Left Field Picnics typically begin when gates open and conclude after 90 minutes. Beer service is provided for the first 75 minutes of the picnic.

All food is served under the cover of a tent; all picnic tables are positioned outside the tent.

Blankets are permitted for shaded grass seating under trees.

RAIN POLICY

Picnics will proceed on schedule, rain or shine, unless extreme circumstances cause postponement prior to gates opening. In such case, you’ll be notified immediately and we’ll work to reschedule your outing based on availability. If the game is officially postponed, your game ticket becomes a rain check for any regular season game in 2011; there are no refunds. During rainy conditions the Indians may allow groups to leave the picnic area for shelter in the concourse. The picnic area is outdoors with limited cover; please plan accordingly.


GAME DAY GUIDE

Your Indians management offers a few points and suggestions to assure an enjoyable outing for all groups at Victory Field.

Menu - Hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled barbecue chicken, pasta salad, baked beans, fruit salad, wrapped cookies, garnishes (lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese), condiments, Pepsi products, water and beer (Coors Light only) are included in the Left Field picnic. No additional food or beverage items may be brought into the picnic areas. No food or beverage may be taken from the picnic grounds until the buffet is pulled. Vegetarian burgers for individual guests can be accommodated upon advance request.

Beer - The caterer, ARAMARK Sports & Entertainment, will provide beer unless a party holding that area exclusively requests otherwise. All beer is served on tap by a licensed ARAMARK employee, and will be available for 1 hour and 15 minutes, beginning at the start of the picnic. Only guests 21 years or older will be served. ARAMARK and Indians, Inc. reserve the right to limit alcohol consumption.

Group Policies - Each picnic guest is required to have two tickets--a game ticket to enter the ballpark plus a picnic ticket to enter the picnic area (one cannot attend the picnic without a game ticket). There will often be multiple groups in the Left Field Picnic Area. If a group increases their numbers significantly there may be limited space for seating. All groups in attendance will get their name displayed on the right field message board at some point during the game.

Personal giveaway items may not be brought into the ballpark without the consent of the Indians. Please call your ticket rep in advance for approval. Balloons, frisbies, beach balls, lasers and other items that cannot be readily controlled or supervised are not permitted.

Children - Any child age two (2) and under is not required to have a ticket to get into the ballpark or the picnic grounds. They will not need to be included in your reservation number. All guests age three (3) and up are required to have tickets.

Smoking - Victory Field is a smoke-free facility. Smokers may obtain a pass-out at convenient gate locations.

Our 10 year reunion is quickly approaching!

It may be hard to believe, but the spring of 2011 marks ten years of life outside of Decatur Central High School. We are putting together details for our 10 year reunion and we hope to see as many alumni as possible. Our class will be attending an Indianapolis Indians game complete with picnic food and beer for between $25 and $35 per person on August 6th, 2011. In order to reserve our space, each person planning to attend will need to submit a $5 (nonrefundable) deposit and children are more than welcome! I will set up a paypal account so that everyone who wishes to attend will be able to make a secure deposit and payment.


We will also be meeting, informally, at a downtown bar (tba) immediately after the game. Please pencil in August 6th! As soon as we have final plans, we'll get this party started.


We will also have to plan some fun picture moments so start digging out your old shoeboxes.
